Live.Love.Dream.

I am a dreamer and when I wake, You can't break my spirit - it's my dreams you take.
It's been 3 months since I posted, practically a 1/4 of a year. In that time I've completed my second term at university, read more books than I have freckles (well, not quite) and learnt that, honestly, not using at least 18 hours out of 24 hours in a day, is neither practical nor productive. Seriously, I don't know when/ how my life decided to get so much busier, but I haven't been to sleep before the pale side of midnight in longer than I care to remember. Mock exams ("collections") in 2 weeks and I'm panicking, I survived my first collections, last term, but that was an easier topic and I had more time (I'm working - as in for real money - all of next week). Let the panic commmence.

But seriously, last term was so much better than first term. I knew were stuff was, I knew how stuff worked, and most of all, I knew some great people, that's what really made the difference. Whether I was stressing in my room in front of my laptop at 2am, or staring at the sunshine through the stained glass of the Bodelian, I never quite lost sight of how much I love being at Oxford.

Therefore, an irrational part of me can't wait to get back there, despite the previously-mentioned exams :p

Oh, and did I mention that I have real exams at the end of next-term? ("Prelims") :O

Anyway, until next time, I'll leave you with this (the images are connected, I have a visa interview at the U.S embassy in London next week - scary times!)

PS, sorry if it's months before I post again, c'est la vie!

I'm back after my first term of university!

There are now only 3 things I know for certain;

1. University is amazing!!!
2. Being home, whilst all of your friends are still at university for another 2 weeks, is sad.
3. I miss both university and my friends at home! </3

I'm leaving...well, for 2 months!

I'm leaving...well, for 2 months!
I've always imagined posting this set when the leaves were turning brown, autumn is setting in, and I'm about to move to university. And now I am. In 2 days!

Polyvore means a lot to me. It's somewhere I can post things just for fun, somewhere I can create something and share it with everyone, and yet it doesn't matter if not many other people "get it", because it's something I like to do anyway.

So, about me leaving, seeing as my terms are so short (8 weeks) and the work load so intense, I've decided that, at least for the first term, I'm going to really get down the amount of time I spend on the internet, and that means cutting down almost entirely on Polyvore :(

However, I am not abandoning this account! By no means! You will see me again some time in December, and until then, I appreciate any likes, comments, and tags left for me in my absence, they mean more than words to me.

I'm so happy to be finally living the life I always dreamed! Don't wait for me, I'll be back soon! :D

All that is gold does not glitter, Not all those who wander are lost; The old that is strong does not wither, Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

Festivals & summer memories
2 Weeks until I move to university! I'm so excited :D

I've had a good summer, the highlights including holidays to Spain and Edinburgh, done a bit of work, and loads of reading! However, I'm getting to the stage when I just want to be at university now, especially as my Facebook has been flooded with Fresher's photos!

But, I must remember the good times I've had, although I'm bored now I've had a summer of seeing theatre performances, different parts of the country and meeting up with friends - what more could I ask for?

The Sea/ Farewell Summer
“Look at that sea, girls--all silver and shadow and vision of things not seen. We couldn't enjoy its loveliness any more if we had millions of dollars and ropes of diamonds.”

The virgin suicides - Jeffrey Eugenides
The Virgin Suicides is the 1993 debut novel by American writer Jeffrey Eugenides. The story, which is set in Grosse Pointe, Michigan during the 1970s, centers on the suicides of five sisters. The Lisbon girls' suicides fascinate their community as their neighbors struggle to find an explanation for the acts.

If you have not read this book, you have not lived!
“A girl should be two things: classy and fabulous.”
- quote by Coco Chanel.

So, in the last week, I've been out to eat twice, held a dinner party with my friends (and yes, we are all teenagers, not all of us are chavvy, pregnant or determined to get drunk*) and I'm going to the theatre tonight. Not doing too badly as far as "classy" activities are concerned then, it's been a classy week!

*Admittedly though, this is the outcome for many of my friends, after a clubbing night, but that is entirely different, those are seperate ;)

Practice makes perfect, but if nobody's perfect, why practice?
Just another day, that I had the best day of my life.
So, yesterday morning, at 7:20am after a sleepless night, I get a phone call whilst lying in bed half-sleeping, from one of my best friends, sounding hysterical.

Her: "OMG WAKE UP! WAKE UP NOW!"

Me: "rkgjdrgn...what?what!"

Her: "UCAS has updated early! Click on it now! And Good luck!"

....and then she hangs up, leaving me to face my fate alone - there's no way I'm waking my family up until I've seen if I've gotten into university online (UCAS in the UK is the University and College Admission Service) or maybe seen my final exam results at school.

Anyway...I turn on the laptop, get on to my UCAS page, and hesitate for a fraction of a second before clicking "Log in"....

5 Seconds later and I'm going into complete shock.

Guess who just got into Oxford?!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

That was yesterday, and what followed later was a 24 hours like no other, we're talking champagne, photos, crying, laughing, lunch AND dinner out, about a million phone calls and a very happy visit to my school to receive my final grades - A*A*A :')

Moral of the story: work hard, work very, very, hard, and you WILL get what you've dreamt of.
